You may be aware that I’ve been doing professional business coaching as a part of Small Fish for four years now. But unless you’re following me there, you may not have heard that I started another blog last year called The Values Based Business. This is something which I did to explore what people are doing in creating businesses based on more than just the pursuit of money.
I started this because I’ve been pondering how I combine my own spirituality and values with my business focus. It’s not an easy journey for me, but it’s something that really touches me at a deeper level.
That’s the background.
I’ve been publishing that blog every Sunday for 19 months now, and it’s a challenge to keep it from becoming routine. Yesterday I added my latest post, What makes you fulfilled?, as a continuation of the previous week’s discussion.
I got more response to that post than any other article I’ve written in over ten years! A whole bunch of new people followed the blog, talked about it on Twitter or Facebook, commented on the post, or sent me an email.
What does this teach me? Well, you never know how and when you’re going to touch someone. It’s great to have people compliment you and engage in conversation, but there’s other deeper things going on in peoples’ lives that you’ll never really know about.
Now here’s something even more surprising: I’ve defined that blog as a place where it’s safe to talk about Christianity. That may turn some people off, but I think it’s important to discuss places where people are combining religion and business.
That particular post happened to be fairly heavy on the religion side, so of course my doubts and fears come out to remind me that I might be turning people off. But instead, that touched far more lives than I could have imagined.
You never know who’ll you touch. So be courageous and put your message out there.
Bring your power and passion to the world.
Put it out there!: You may be aware that I’ve been doing professional business coaching as a part… http://t.co/kGp3Ubns77
