Choice
| Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.
~William Jennings Bryan |
I came across this great quote from a US Statesman in the early part of the 20th century. It really got me thinking about how I struggle with expectations and obligations, and the choices that I make.

The larger contribution
The recent disaster in Japan makes me think about my priorities. I spend so much of my time focusing on the mechanics of building my business that I can forget that there’s a bigger picture here.

Time isn’t all the same
I recall a conversation with a colleague some years ago. His theory was that you should look at how you spend your time in terms of how much you’re paid per hour in order to help you make tradeoffs.

The Golden Handcuffs
I had an interesting conversation with someone last week who was struggling with this thought: “I can’t think about leaving my job, because I’ll never be able to get the kind of salary I’m getting now.”
I can relate – I was trapped by that fear for many years.
