Covey, when he explained that trust can be thought of as a bank account. Here\u2019s the concept:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You build up trust by your reliable and generous actions, those are the \u201cdeposits.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>You lose trust when you make a mistake and damage someone, those are the \u201cwithdrawals.\u201d It\u2019s much easier to make a withdrawal than a deposit.<\/li>\n<li> When you damage someone more than you\u2019ve benefited them, you\u2019ve exhausted your bank account. They won\u2019t want to trust you anymore, and it\u2019s extremely hard to dig yourself out of that hole.<\/li>\n<li>Like bank accounts, deep trust is developed over the course of many years.
